Zinny Taylor

Zinny Taylor is the main character in the novel Chasing RedBird by Sharon Creech. Zinny is a 13 year old girl who lives on a farm with her large family in Bybanks Kentucky.

Zinny feels sad and guilty about her cousin Roses death from the Whooping cough that she gave Rose when she was four. She also feels different from her family because they are loud and boisterous but she is a quiet girl that likes her own space.

Zinny looks very much like her mum. She has long dark hair, brown eyes and a small nose. Her legs are long and skinny. She has light skin and wears dark clothes.

Zinny has very odd behaviours. She talks to Rose who is dead. She tells fibs about Jake Boone and is secretive when she finds something in the garden.

Zinny is a very intelligent girl. She blames herself for things she didn't do. She is also withdrawn from people in the world.

Zinny Taylor is a character who readers will like. Even though she is quiet and odd. She is still a wonderful character
